What is the purpose of KPREP? KPREP Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), enacted in the 2009 Kentucky General Assembly, required a new public school assessment program beginning in the 2011-12 school year.

These assessments were collectively named the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) tests. NCS Pearson has been awarded the contract to provide all assessments for grades 3-8 and writing on-demand at high school.

NCS Pearson currently provides large-scale assessment services in more than 25 states and for the U.S. Department of Education. The assessment for grades 3-8 is a blended model built with norm-referenced test (NRT) and criterion-referenced test (CRT) items which consist of multiple-choice (mc), extended-response (er) and short answer (sa) items.

The NRT is a purchased test with national norms and the CRT portion is customized for Kentucky. EOC Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), enacted in the 2009 Kentucky General Assembly, required a new public school assessment program beginning with the 2011-12 school year. The legislation allowed, with approval by the Kentucky Board of Education, an end-of-course (EOC) assessment program at the high school level.

Kentucky completed the state-required procurement process in 2011,and ACT, Inc.was awarded the contract to provide EOC assessments. Assessments for English II, Algebra II, Biology and US History have been purchased as part of ACTs QualityCoreprogram. The program is syllabus-driven and will include curriculum and instruction support materials. QualityCorehas been developed based on research in high-performing classrooms that focus on the essential standards for college and career readiness.

The EOC assessments will be administered throughout the year as students earn credit in each course.

The questions are very similar and some are near identical to the actual test. I found the marathon test, fines and limits and all the 'hard' tests most helpful. The questions are very similar to the real test, people can benefit a lot learning from this page.' Zach T., Owensboro, Kentucky 'So I practiced for 2 days, went in and took the test and I passed it. I am excited and I don't think I missed a single question because I knew everything. The questions were almost identical to the questions on this site. I'm thankful!'

Patience C., Covington, Kentucky 'I absolutely love this site!! It was sooooooo helpful, much more helpful than the manual. I took every practice test for my state, i missed a couple questions (mostly because of nerves, and I'm a terrible test taker), but i passed! And i really couldn't have done it without this site. I recommended this to my boyfriend who is a couple months younger than me and will be taking his test soon. I just love how closely it resembled the test itself, and it really helped me prepare for it.'

Sierra Gillespie, Kentucky 'These practices were extremely helpful! I went for my test right on my birthday nearly a month ago; I passed within ten minutes without missing a single question.

It's very easy, just keep studying!' Kayla Slone, Kentucky 'I found the test very helpful and would recommend it to anybody that's going for their license. First time I didn't do so well, but the second time I got a 97%. This is a great idea for beginner drivers!'
