Walkaround

Hi Everyone, I am new here. I have been trying to find a proline to purchase for some time now. I finally found one i liked and bought it! I was hoping if anyone out there has one if you could give me your 2 cents worth on problems i should look for, or any concerns. I would also like to get an owners manual, anyone know of a place to get one. I am up in B.C. So i am not close to any dealers that i know of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am super happy with the boat so far, but haven't had it out yet. It has a Mercury 225 efi saltwater series. Thanks ahead of time for any responses! Logged Newbie Karma: 0 Offline Posts: 36.

I have '00 23 Walk that I bought used a couple of years ago and I've discovered a few minor issues/annoyances with, but nothing too serious. 1) The bilge access is a pain and the hatch doors are really easy to accidentally kneel on and pop the hinges loose/strip out the screws.

Working on anything in the bilge is generally no fun because of the small hatches. 2) My fresh water pump died on me and trying to get to it to replace it as well as drain the water tank is next to impossible. Everything is at arms length with no way to see what you're working on. 3) Fish boxes fill with water (but then again, that seems to be an issue on most boats) 4) The cushion on the bow comes unbuttoned every time someone sits on it. I almost lost it the first time when I opened up the throttle and it came flying back over the windshield. Logged Administrator Hero Member Karma: 0 Offline Posts: 989. Alpine: It does help to be flexible and have long arms to reach all those shiny bits mounted down in the bilge for sure.

Re 1: When I need to spend time working in the rear of the hull I pull all the screws holding the hatch/frames and remove them completely. Makes the opening a bit larger and that much easier to gain access. Re 3: Presume you mean rain and deck spray collecting in the twin in deck fish boxes? At least you can hit the macerator/pump switch and empty them easily. Re 4: I have to concur there, that attachment strategy for the bow cushion is cheesy.

Was thinking about attaching a big chunk of velcro or something to help keep it in place. Has anyone else solve this issue elegantly? Kevin: I'll be happy to PDF the manual and send you a copy. Send me your email address, mine is '. My macerator was rusted out when we purchased ours, hardly anything left of it. At least it is fairly easy to access to replace. The previous owner's 'solution' was to simply cut open the drain line from the fish boxes to the macerator so the boxes drained into the bilge.

So I had a bit of a corrosion issue w/ some wiring to contend with as well. Hopefully I corrected all those issues and won't have gremlins cropping up down the road. My macerator is always giving me problems.

The in-floor fish boxes are filling with rain water. It appears that the drain on the boxes and the thru-hull is about at the same level. Not even speaking of how the boxes drains come together in a T fitting lower in the hull then goes up to the macerator. I just thought that maybe someone online has the same set up and has found a way to bypass the macerator and the boxes drain directly overboard. As long as the Outlet is lower than the Inlet, it should drain the boxes, but not the hose, rocking of boat sometimes facilitates flushing if boat in water.

You may want to measure location, re route hoses, add a second outlet, eliminate T, macerators and pump sump boxes. But you need to Know new drain route is downhill. If you put a drain below water line you may want a seacock on it but you only need an inch of 'Fall' so that may not be required. But if bottom of fishbox is below water line on yours(its not on mine) fixing or replacing pump setup may be the way to go.

Some guys just drain boxes once on shore/trailer and garden hose flush but rainwater you may want to Gasket lid with some soft material or tape over gap when in storage.
